Steffen Drabek writes musical arrangements for the most varied kinds of instrumentation, ranging from the string quartet or extended chamber orchestra right up to huge symphony orchestras. The press had particular praise for his spirited pop music arrangements for voice and large symphony orchestra.
Since recently, he has been collaborating closely with the jazz musicians Claudio Roditi, Klaus Ignatzek and Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, with whom he presented some of his own jazz arrangements for chamber orchestra and jazz ensemble at the "Philharmonic Jazz Night". These were received with plenty of applause from the public.
